Abuse reporting

How to report spam, phishing, malware or other misuse of a website hosted with CHVEX.

On this page

CHVEX hosting must be used lawfully and in line with our Terms of Service. If you see a website hosted with us being used for abuse, please let us know.

What counts as abuse#

Examples include:

  • phishing pages that imitate a bank, brand or login page;
  • malware or sites that spread harmful downloads;
  • spam sent from or promoting a hosted site;
  • content that infringes copyright or trademarks;
  • other illegal or harmful activity.

How to report#

Open a ticket in the client area: Open a ticket. Support is handled through tickets, so this is the way to reach the right people.

Please include:

  1. The address (URL) of the page or site.
  2. What the problem is and why you believe it is abuse.
  3. Evidence, such as screenshots, the full headers of a spam email, or dates and times.
  4. How to reach you, if you want a reply.

What happens next#

We review the report. Depending on what we find, we may contact the account holder, ask for the problem to be fixed, or take action under our Terms. We may not be able to share details about another customer's account.

If your own site is the problem#

If you receive an abuse notice about your site, it often means it was hacked. Update your software, change your passwords and remove unknown files, then reply to the notice in your ticket. See Security tips.

Not abuse?#

For ordinary support questions, see Contact support. For emergencies involving danger to a person, contact your local authorities first.
