Logging in to cPanel
How to find your cPanel login details and what to do if you cannot sign in.
On this page
cPanel is the control panel where you manage your files, email, domains, databases and SSL. This page explains how to get in.
Find your login details#
After your service is activated, the details for your hosting appear in the Services section of your client area. Open your service to see its information. If a cPanel login link is shown there, use it.
The usual cPanel address#
On most cPanel hosting you can also reach the login page by adding /cpanel to your domain, or by using port 2083 over HTTPS:
https://yourdomain.com/cpanel
https://yourdomain.com:2083
Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain. If your domain does not point to CHVEX yet, the address may not work. In that case, use the link in your service details, or open a ticket and ask us.
Signing in#
- Open the cPanel login page.
- Enter your cPanel username and password.
- Click Log in.
Find your way around#
Once you are in, the main areas you will use are:
| Area | What it is for |
|---|---|
| File Manager | Upload and edit website files |
| Email Accounts | Create mailboxes and reset mail passwords |
| Domains | Add domains, subdomains and redirects |
| SSL/TLS Status | Check your SSL certificates |
| Backup | Download a copy of your site |
If you cannot log in#
- Check for typing mistakes and that Caps Lock is off.
- Make sure you are using your cPanel details, not your client area details.
- Try a private browser window to rule out saved passwords or extensions.
